Freebie: Paris Is Always A Good Idea

Today's freebie concludes this month's series of kits I've created for theStudio's Next Designer Contest.  The prompt was "dream vacation" and I knew right away that I wanted to design a Paris themed kit.  I decided on my color palette, got to work, and had a lot of fun.

At the beginning of September my initial motivation for participating in this contest was the free CU product everyone gets for submitting each week.  But this week I'm secretly hoping I win something because I think that my kit may just be good enough.  It's my biggest so far and I feel I've come a long way in this short amount of time.  I'll let you know if anything exciting happens, hope you like it!  :)

Freebie: San Fran-Cation

I temporarily lost my mojo this week, I didn't do anything digi scrap related for 5 days straight!  Finally on Friday I decided enough was enough and started a layout for a photo swap at Pixel Scrapper.  I also wanted to participate in week 3 of The Next Designer Challenge at theStudio and was able to eek out this kit on Saturday.  The theme was "staycation", which for me means being a tourist in San Francisco.  Maybe you've been there and you'll find this kit useful to scrap your memories, hope you like it!  :)

Freebie: Beach Sunset

I participated in Week 2 of The Next Designer contest at theStudio.  The kit requirements were a little larger this time, but you were able to pick your own color palette with the theme Beach Getaway.  I knew right away what picture I wanted to use for my inspiration, and once I got to work it came together pretty nicely. (With plenty of trial and error mixed in, of course!)  Hope you like it, and let me know what you think!  :)

This is my last post for the day, I promise!  I just wanted to pop in and let you know about an awesome digi community that I'm a part of - and the special they have going on this month!

Pixel Scrapper is one of the first digital scrap booking sites I discovered and I love it.  You can download papers and elements individually - only what you want - for free!  What's more is that the community is full of helpful, kind, and welcoming members.

The site runs on donations and this month they started a subscription plan.  You get unlimited personal use downloads for just $5 a month (regularly $10) OR unlimited commercial use downloads for $10 a month (regularly $20).

First Week Update

How has an entire week passed since I started this blog??  This week has been a busy one, I've been working on some fun layouts and even a design challenge - which means a freebie for you!  (My first, so stay tuned!)

I have some more fun news today, I've recently accepted positions on two different Creative Teams!  yay!

First up is Cat Scrap Fever, a new and upcoming store run by Cat Armstrong.  Her CT call was the first I ever applied to, I'm really glad I did and am excited to be a part of her team!

The Inaugural Blog Post

Hi everyone!  (anyone??)

I'm starting a blog today... and this first post stuff is pretty hard, haha.  I'd like to be able to write something clever and witty, but alas it escapes me as I've just spent the last hour trying to customize my blog's background and header.  And I'm not even sure I like it!

I wanted a space to share my adventures in digi scrapping.  What's digi scrap??  That's another post for another day!  I myself just discovered it about two months ago and have learned so much and am completely addicted to it already.  This is the longest I've ever stuck with any craft endeavor - my husband is impressed!  :-D

I'll be back this coming week with some news and to show you a layout or two that I've created.
